Political Joomla of 2024, New Year Resolutions And Turmoil of Wrestlers!

Edits | January, 2024

The biggest political Joomla! of 2024 now begins. With elections hitting in the early summers, BJP is all out to get its opposition with a full collection of arsenal. As of now almost 150 MPs have been suspended from opposing a debate in any bill which has to be passed during the winter session. Though the session of Parliament is over, most of the bills passed including the bill for the 3 new criminal laws, replacing the earlier ones of 1856 has been passed, without much debate and hassle. In one sense it is good as that was needed, but in the other sense, taking the entire opposition out, in guise of their unnecessary demand for a statement by the home minister and the Prime Minister about the recent attack within the Parliament, seems like straight out of school when the teachers used to suspend kids to stand outside the class.

There is a large possibility that BJP will win hands down, even though the vote share margin difference (difference in votes received by the winner and others) won’t be much. This is evident like in the last state elections of four states, where BJP won by less than 7% of vote share, but that’s democracy and needs to be respected.

BJP will try all the tactics like that of ED, IT, CBI, DRI to put away leaders from other political parties. We should also expect some financial trick coming in from the central government which will curb the flow of money to the opposition parties for election campaigning. We should also expect things like a Covid outbreak being propagated, which will hurdle the political campaigning by the opposition. With the I.n.d.i. alliance almost breaking up, and with no real picture of their goals for governance, fighting the elections, selection of leader, agenda other than replacing Modi, it seems that they have lost their way and remain a confluence of top leaders for a photo-op.

Rahul Gandhi’s yatra from the West to the East seems to have come to a halt with all these defeats in the recent state elections. Although one was to say looking at the numbers that Congress may have gained quite a lot of foothold which it had lost earlier, still winners or winners. Moving ahead India will need to address the plight of unemployment. Reskilling the huge workforce that we have which is just below average as far as work is concerned, rechecking the education system which does not produce much worthy candidates for the industry, taking hold of the falling rupee against the US dollar which is making the value of rupee diminished by at least 8% every year, population control. With this new way of politics, the campaign for population control has certainly finished as leaders need more votes and more votes needs more people. That’s one hidden rhetoric which no leader will comment on now. Simply look at the sea of people in the cities every day, it’s getting unimaginably large with resources being pushed to the limits.

What resolution is to make for 2024.

Resolution writing has become difficult and senseless as the grounds all the paddy gram of basic assumptions for making these resolutions change so drastically, due to technology and its dynamics, which are constantly finding new peaks that are difficult to comprehend and keep pace with. With AI coming in a major way in various sectors in the West, electric mobility, instant communication and cyber currency, it is difficult to predict financial goals. Even the best companies in the world are now struggling to keep pace with technology which is emerging as disruptors from small labs and individual initiatives, and they are so good that adoption of the tech produced by them is not just rapid, but instantaneous. They replace the old ones like crazy.

Hence, to have realistic personal goals for the new year resolution 2024 they should be something that you can (or may) achieve singularly. To say that you are going to make a certain amount of money and go places may simply change due to the advent of technology, pace of life, the place of the polluted country that you live in, government policies, war, Covid revisited and the like. Hence best to stick to personal goals which involves relationships, furtherance of knowledge, rebuilding of intelligence, networking, reading up something which you think was outlandish, re-visiting that part of career to see how life can be more stable at professional level- could be some of the guidelines for writing up resolutions.

It is sad that Olympic medal willing female Indian wrestlers who had pleaded and argued that they were sexually assaulted, have a close aid of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Sanjay Singh, of the BJP as their head of the Wrestling federation. Sakshi Malik’s disappointment in this decision prompted her announcement that she would be retiring. Despite the assurance from the government and the Sports minister after the big Dharna of last winter, BJP decided to let the Kunda neta, Brij Bhushan, grab the foothold (and whatever) for the Wrestling Federation in India. This is not new to the Indian politics, as there have been these kinds of people who have been close to the leaders in the government doing fancy things and fancy favours for them, so much so that they cannot be touched. Maybe it is the same repeat of what happened during the Indira Gandhi regime or during other regimes in India. Even though Sanjay Singh and the rest of the newly elected Wrestling federation has been suspended, he has threatened legal action if the suspension is not revoked. Is Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh one of those blokes who cannot be touched because he has everyone in his thick little file? One wonders what holds BJP from suspending or expelling him, when they can do with 146 MPs of the Indian Parliament?

On this note, wishing all the readers of Woman’s Era magazine, its websites, social media platforms a very happy and prosperous New Year 2024.
