Praveen Kumar, Who Played “Bheema” In Mahabharata, Died, Was Troubled By Financial Constraints!

Actor Praveen Kumar Sobti, who played the role of Bhima in the famous mythological serial ‘Mahabharata’ on the small screen, has passed away. He was 74 years old. Praveen Kumar Sobti was very ill in the last days of his life and was going through a financial crisis. The daughter was informed about his death.

Talking to the English website Indian Express, Praveen Kumar Sobti’s daughter said that she died on Monday at 9.30 pm due to a heart attack. He was at his home in Delhi. Apart from TV serials, Praveen Kumar Sobti also worked in many Bollywood films and made a lot of headlines. He was always in the news because of his stature. He worked with many big actors like Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Sunny Deol. Praveen Kumar used to play the role of villain mostly in Sobti films, which the audience also liked very much.

Not only acting but Praveen Kumar Sobti was very much discussed about the game. He belonged to Punjab. Praveen Kumar was a Sobti hammer and discus throw athlete. He was a four-time Asian Games medalist with 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze. And he has also represented India in two Olympic Games (1968 Mexico Games and 1972 Munich Games). He was awarded the Arjuna Award. Due to sports, Praveen got the job of Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF).

However, he decided to leave that job and make a career in acting. It is worth noting that in the past, Praveen Kumar Sobti had appealed to the government for help regarding his financial constraints. Recently, his financial condition was very bad, due to which he had appealed to the government for financial help. The actor said in his complaint, “I have a complaint with all the parties that formed the government in Punjab. The players who play Asian Games or win medals are given pensions. However, I was denied this right”.They complain that all the governments that came to Punjab were denied pensions.
