There is a close relationship between films and controversy in the country. With the release of the film, some controversies related to it also arise. In this sequence, the Gurjar society in Rajasthan has now threatened to stop the screening of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Prithviraj’. According to Gurjar Samaj, if the word ‘Rajput’ continues to be used for Prithviraj Chauhan, then he will not allow the film to be released. Not only this, the society has also claimed that Prithviraj was a Gurjar, not a Rajput.

On the other hand the leaders of Rajput Samaj completely rejected the claim of Gurjar Samaj. In this regard, Shri Rajput Karni Sena’s national spokesperson Vijender Singh Shaktawat said that Gujjars were Gauchars in the beginning, which later turned into Gujjars and then Gurjars. They originally come from Gujarat and hence got this name. It is a word related to place and not related to any caste.

Gurjar leader Himmat Singh said that the “Prithviraj Chauhan Raso epic was written in the 16th century, which is completely fictional. This epic was written by Chandbardai in Pringle language, which is a mixture of Bajra and Rajasthani languages. During the reign of Gurjar emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, Sanskrit was used and not the Pringal language, which the poet has used.”

Himmat Singh further said that “According to historical evidence Rajputs never existed before the thirteenth century. We have proved these facts and in present times people of Rajput caste have also accepted it. So he claimed himself to be a Kshatriya and not a Rajput.”

In fact, controversy has arisen over this film because the word Rajput was used at the time of Chandbardai and not during the rule of King Prithviraj Chauhan. According to the report, Himmat Singh said that Prithviraj Chauhan’s father Someshwar has been associated with the Gurjar caste and hence the son himself should be a Gurjar.

Significantly, Manushi Chhillar, who was Miss World in the year 2017 from the film Prithviraj, is entering Bollywood. Manushi will be seen in the lead role along with Akshay Kumar in the film. Apart from this, Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt are also in important roles in the film. This film is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
