Anand Chokse, a resident of Burhanpur, is a businessman, who has recently gifted his wife a house like Taj Mahal. Anand Chokse says, “I always used to think that why the Taj Mahal was not built in my city Burhanpur, because Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz died in this city. It was to be on the banks of the river but was later built in Agra.”

It took three years to build this house by replicating the Taj Mahal. The engineer who built the house said that there were many challenges in building the house. All this has happened only after he studied the real Taj Mahal closely. He has taken the help of artists from Bengal and Indore for the carvings inside the house.

This house, which is an exact copy of the Taj Mahal, has 4 bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs. The dome of the house is at a height of 29 feet. It has towers like Taj Mahal and the floor of the house is made from ‘Makrana’ of Rajasthan and the furniture is made by the artisans of Mumbai. Apart from this, it has a big hall. There is also a library and a meditation hall.
