Ranveer Singh Explains Why His Film ’83’ Was Beaten At Box Office

Actor Ranveer Singh, who is known for his quirky fashion as well as his strong acting in Bollywood, is currently in discussions about his upcoming film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’. Fans are eagerly waiting for his film. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has spoken openly on the box office failure of his last film ’83’. In fact, when the actor was asked the reason behind the flop of ’83’ during the promotions of Jayeshbhai Jordaar, he called it a ‘bad timing’.

Significantly, Ranveer Singh was seen playing the role of Kapil Dev, who is called the storm of Haryana in ’83’. Kabir Khan’s ’83’ depicted the journey of the Indian cricket team to a spectacular victory during the 1983 World Cup. Despite the rave reviews, the film was a failure at the box office.

Ranveer told that “83 was criticized by the trade analysts of the industry for not making as much money as was expected from the film. “I would like to say about this that the film had earned around Rs 200 crore even in the midst of the third wave of Corona, which was not bad at all. Despite the third wave of corona spreading like wildfire across the world, many people went to see it. It was just a matter of unfortunate timing,” he said. During this conversation, Ranveer also said that a lot of theatres were also closed 48 hours before the release of ’83’.

Ranveer admitted that the timing of releasing the film was not right. The actor said that “It may not have been a successful film in terms of earnings, but I want to tell you that it is one of my favourite films. I have a lot of love for this film.”

Currently, Ranveer Singh is awaiting the release of ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ with Shalini Pandey. The film is scheduled to release on May 13 this year. ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ depicts such a social issue, from which our country is suffering even today. The film is getting a very good response even before its release.
