Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has deleted all of his Instagram posts. The rapper’s 9.5 million-follower Instagram account was left completely blank on Monday (November 29), yet it is still active.
This isn’t the first time Ye has updated his social media profile. He joined Instagram in 2016 and has deactivated his account several times since then. In July of this year, he returned to the platform ahead of the release of his latest album, Donda.
Fans are guessing and making assumptions about Kanya’s decision. The bulk of them believes the 44-year-old rapper did so as a result of his close friend and fashion designer Virgil Abloh’s death. His most recent Sunday Service performance was said to be dedicated to Virgil. It came barely hours after the family had confirmed the fashion designer’s death.
The influential Louis Vuitton menswear designer and founder of the fashion label Off-White was diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma – a rare, aggressive form of cancer – in 2019.
It’s unclear why Ye removed his messages, but it comes just days after thanksgiving, the rapper shared an old photo originally posted by Kardashian to her Instagram Stories in 2019. The photo featured West and Kardashian kissing in matching sweatsuits.
In February of this year, Kardashian filed for divorce from the rapper. After appearing on the sketch comedy show together last month, the reality TV star is rumoured to be dating Saturday Night Live comic Pete Davidson.
Last month, Kardashian West and Davidson were first linked romantically after they were seen holding hands on a rollercoaster at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California. They shared an onstage kiss for a comedy when she hosted Saturday Night Live on Oct. 9, and the reveal came soon after.
The former couple shares four kids: North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two.
