Ex-Bigg Boss OTT contestant Raqesh Bapat made it to the top 4 finalists on the show, despite being called names both inside and outside the house. With his calm demeanor, he won many hearts. While inside the house, Raqesh was often humiliated for not taking a stand and for not showing interest in the game.
Besides that, Bapat made headlines for his blossoming closeness with co-contestant Shamita Shetty. Shetty, who was called bossy by the inmates, looked dominating over Raqesh also. Commenting on the same, Kashmera Shah slammed Raqesh and called him ‘henpecked husband.’ Raqesh’s ex-wife Ridhi Dogra, who shares a cordial equation with him fired back at Kashmera’s tweet on Bapat’s behalf. And now, Raqesh, in a recent interview has reacted to the same remark of Kashmera.
Raqesh Bapat has said that he is not a ‘henpecked husband but a caring one. And also that he likes to treat the woman of his life like a queen.’
In a conversation with PeepingMoon, Raqesh said, “I would say I’m not henpecked, I’m a caring husband because I always give my woman the space, the treatment, the respect and I don’t cross that. And I treat my woman like a queen and that’s what a man should do because there’s love and a lot of caring so somewhere I like to treat my people special and it doesn’t make you henpecked.”
Raqesh further quoted, “You bow down to certain levels just because you want to give them that love so that is not being henpecked. I’ve always been like this and it doesn’t make me weak. It’s not about not taking a stand, it’s just that I ignore certain things and I do certain things for the person’s happiness. Henpecked and all are just names, I know what I am.”
Talking about his ex-wife Ridhi’s constant support for him while he was on the show, Raqesh said, “She messaged me after I came out saying ‘you played well and I supported you all the time’. I knew she’d support me and I spoke to her and we discussed a lot of things about the house. She loved the way I played it, she said it with full respect.”
Further in the interview, Raqesh added that he found it difficult to put across his point of view in the chaos of the Bigg Boss House. And also he did not find it appropriate to change himself for the sake of the show. “I have always been someone who did not ‘scream and shout’ to be heard and did not see a need for me to change that just for the sake of the show,” Raqesh concluded.
