Rashmika Mandanna On ‘Animal’ Controversy: ‘Am I Living In A Bubble?
Rashmika Mandanna, one of the most promising actresses in the Indian film industry, finally broke her silence on the trolling she faced for a scene in Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal.’ Due to this occurrence, the Bollywood industry is in a storm, and social media is witnessing a heated discussion.
The Controversial Scene
The Karwa Chauth scene in ‘Animal’ caused controversy as it received major trolling. Rashmika faced heavy criticism despite the scene being applauded on set. Many have deemed the comments made by netizens disrespectful and inappropriate, leading to widespread criticism.
Rashmika’s Reaction
Rashmika expressed her confusion and questioned if she was living in a bubble. She was taken aback by the trolling, especially since the scene was well-received on set. The actress was left wondering if the reality she perceives differs from the reality the audience perceives.
“I don’t like people trolling women on their bodies.. as long as that’s not the case and they’re trolling me about my films, cinema, my face in the film when I say the dialogue… I know how the performance was. I performed five months ago (sic).”
The Nine-Minute Sequence
Rashmika Mandanna's dialogue in #AnimalMovie decrypted successfully. She is saying "Ranveer Singh was better choice for this role, shame, you should die! She spoke this in Kiliki language spoken by Kalakeya in Bahubali. Proofs👇👇pic.twitter.com/Obv9BdnWSI

Cheers to Rashmika for ruining Hindi and English in 5 seconds. Not an easy job to do. pic.twitter.com/mzWlL3xgSv

The scene was a nine-minute sequence with everyone clapping after Rashmika’s performance. However, the trailer only showed a 10-second snippet, which led to the trolling. The discrepancy between the on-set and audience reactions has baffled Rashmika and the film’s team.
“So I thought I did the nine-minute-long scene, and everyone on the set liked it, but people are now trolling me for the same. So, am I living in a bubble? Like, are people not going to like this scene? Because you know what you’ve shot, but people don’t know. People just know that like those 10 seconds. So I don’t want to ever be in my life where I’m living in a bubble. I need to be on the ground. I need to talk to people. I need to know what’s going on (sic),”
The Success of ‘Animal’
Despite the criticisms, ‘Animal‘ became one of the highest-grossing movies in 2023, earning over Rs 900 crore worldwide. The film’s success is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication, and the audience highly appreciated Rashmika’s performance.
