Popular celebrity Selena Gomez is frequently involved in controversy, primarily related to her personal life. This time, though, she’s been in the spotlight for allegedly copying the style of her most recent music video, Love On, which features Palestinian musician Sarah Bahbah. Sarah has once again accused Gomez of plagiarism!

Gomez’s most recent song, which was released a few days ago, showed the singer touring Paris, the City of Love while wearing different clothes and sharing kisses with numerous couples. “I was taken aback”

However, Sarah Bahbah attacked Selena Gomez in a video this time. The artist disclosed that she got messages from many people accusing Selena of copying her work. She revealed that she sought guidance from several professionals in the entertainment business before creating this film. Sarah also asserts that women of colour frequently experience this. Bahbah went on to say that she is a Palestinian before discussing how Gomez stole her work.

She said, “I was taken aback because not only was it shot in a style that heavily resembles a lot of my art, but it was also shot in the same location where I shot two of my short films.”

The two short films that were released in 2022 and 2023, respectively, are I Like You and Untangled. She also disclosed that her work had received millions of views. Sarah posted a video on Instagram and tagged Selena Gomez.

Mixed reactions

Many people in the comment section advised Selena Gomez to simply hire Sarah Bahbah rather than steal her ideas.

One of the users wrote, “This is wild. Don’t let anyone gaslight you into thinking she didn’t steal your aesthetic. This is, like, blatant plagiarism. I’m shaking.”

Another commented, “She could have just hired you.”

One fan defending Selena Gomez said, “I’m sorry, girl, but this is reaching… Even you took inspiration from others in your work. There is nothing “unique” or “signature” in images of a woman on a balcony in a white bathrobe having breakfast. This is something that has been seen over and over again, and you cannot possibly take credit for that.”
