Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Devarakonda had a candid moment at a publicity event in Mumbai. The “Kabir Singh” star softly kissed the “Arjun Reddy” actor on his cheek to express his admiration on stage.
At the Prime Video Mumbai event, both the stars exchanged mutual appreciation as they promoted their future shows on the OTT network. Prime Video called this bromantic moment a “multiverse of madness” on Instagram.
Viral moment captured
On stage, Shahid accompanied Vijay and tagged along for the rest of the evening. He even rested his head on the “Khushi” actor’s shoulder to indicate how close they both are. Shahid played the flawed character of “Kabir Singh” in the 2019 movie, while Vijay Devarakonda was the lead actor in the original.
“Arjun Reddy” was a Telugu film released in 2017, and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also made “Kabir Singh” in Hindi. Both the films went on to become blockbusters despite being accused of glorification of toxic masculinity. Vanga’s 3rd film “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor, also received similar criticism, yet emerged a super hit.
After praising the south star’s natural acting style, Shahid Kapoor thanked him for doing Arjun Reddy so that Kabir could exist. He said, “I have to give him a lot of love. Naa Arjun Reddy bani hoti, naa Kabir Singh paida hota. (Had Arjun Reddy not been made, Kabir Singh wouldn’t have been born) Thank you, Vijay!” This is when he planted a cheeky kiss on Vijay.
Undeniable camaraderie
Shahid and Vijay Devarakonda graced the title Announcement event of Amazon Prime Video for this year. Taking this opportunity, Kapoor asked VD about his upcoming project “Family Star,” which will be available on Prime Video after its theatrical release. Shahid’s mischievous question was, “We all know about Arjun Reddy, I just want to ask you a simple question, ‘How has Arjun Reddy become a family man?’”
Vijay’s reply was short and sweet, indicating that if he loves the narration, he is game. VD pointed at the producer and said, “He came to me, I liked the script, so I picked it up. That’s all!” Mrunal Thakur plays the female lead in the film, and Shahid had already worked with her in the Hindi version of “Jersey.”
The “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” actor acknowledged her talent and praised her. He said, “The lovely Mrunal Thakur is here. We did a beautiful film together, Jersey, and had some amazing times working together. It’s a creative reunion right here today.”

Shows like “Mirzapur” and “Pataal Lok” are coming back for the next season.
