The upcoming horror-comedy film, Bhediya is creating a lot of buzzes. Its trailer received positive word of mouth from both viewers and critics. A few days ago, makers dropped the first song from Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon starrer titled Thumkeshwari. The duo is seen showing their dance moves in party number. But it is ‘Stree Shraddha Kapoor’ who steals the limelight. Kapoor’s cameo in the song is grabbing all the attention. Adding more to the excitement among fans, now the Ek Villain actress has also confirmed Stree 2.

A report in a leading daily suggests that Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao will reunite for the sequel to the 2018 hit and will begin shooting for it in 2023. The prep work is currently on paper, and the pre-production is expected to begin to post the release of Bhediya in November. ‘Amar [Kaushik] and his team of writers have been working on the script of Stree 2 for a while now, and they have finally locked a subject that takes forward the legacy of the first part. They are well aware of all the expectations and hence, despite pressures from all ends to make a sequel, were in no hurry to make Stree 2. The script has shaped up well and the team is now all set to take the film on floors early next year,’ states the source.

Furthermore, it revealed that even Varun will appear in the second instalment of the much-anticipated film as Stree and Bhediya are from the same universe. ‘Shraddha has made a brief appearance in a song of Bhediya and now, Varun Dhawan too is expected to have a role to play in Stree 2. The story of Bhediya eventually leads to Stree and that would set the ball rolling for Maddock’s unique horror-comedy universe.’

 

For the unversed, the plot of Stree was based on the urban legend Nale Ba (Come tomorrow) of Karnataka. It brought the genre of horror-comedy to India.
