Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi has breathed a sigh of relief after being acquitted in the Jiah Khan suicide case after a long trial of 10 years. Now in a recent interview, he has broken his silence on the entire matter and has made shocking revelations. Sooraj said that he was in a relationship with late actress Jiah for 5 months. But his love was not enough for her as Jiah was in a desperate need of love from her family too.

‘Haven’t slept peacefully for 10 years’

In a conversation with Bombay Times, Sooraj said that a huge burden from his shoulders is now off. In the last 10 years, even when he got in a relationship, he wasn’t able to give his 100% to it because his future was not certain. Now that he is free from all the charges, he can plan his career. Sooraj told that above fame, money and success, what matters in life is peace and has not been at peace for last 10 years. The actor stated that he used to think about the case every night before sleeping. And it did not just happen to him, but also to his father (Aditya Pancholi), mother (Zarina Wahab) and sister (Sana Pancholi).

‘Jiah needed the love of family’

Talking about Jiah’s depression, Sooraj shared that he I sent a friend request to the deceased actress on Facebook. She was a beautiful girl and had done a few films. She accepted it after about a year and they became friends. The two then stepped ahead and came in a relationship but that was just for 5 months.

Sooraj said that he didn’t know what Jiah was going through. She needed love not only from her boyfriend but also from her family. Jiah was under a lot of pressure to support her family – two younger half-sisters, mother and their friends as she was the sole earner for her family. Sooraj didn’t know the seriousness of the situation as he was just 20, but he told Jiah’s mother about her depression and how she is in a bad need for help.

‘Jiah did not write suicide letter’

Further in the interaction, Sooraj made a startling revelation. He revealed that when he met Jiah initially and they were not in a relationship, she tried to cut off her hand in 2012 with the intention of killing herself. He called her mother Rabia Khan in London and she told him that she is coming back on the next flight, but didn’t show up for months.

Sooraj shared that the court observed the suicide letter attributed to Jiah was not written by her and was handed over to the police a few days after it was given to the media. The judgment copy also raises questions on the genuine authorship of the said letter.

Sooraj made his Hindi film debut with 2015 movie ‘Hero’ opposite Athiya Shetty. He then appeared in ‘Satellite Shankar’. Sooraj will next come up with ‘Hawa Singh’.
