Super Followers, A New Feature On Twitter, Will Be Available Shortly.

Twitter is going to launch the Super Followers feature soon. This would make it easier to charge certain users with at least 10,000 followers to deliver specific content to people, such as additional tweets, joining community groups, or receiving newsletters.

Twitter announced earlier this year that it was working on a service like Patreon, as the micro-blogging platform aims to generate revenue in a new way. Twitter showed a fake screenshot during a virtual event with investors, where a user charges $4.99 per month for specific content.

App researcher Jane Manchun Wong first tweeted screenshots of the new Super Followers feature on Sunday. Wong said in the tweet, “Twitter is working on the Super Followers application. Must have at least 10,000 followers have posted at least 25 tweets in the last 30 days and be at least 18 years old. Wong also discovered a list of content categories that Super Follow users would choose to describe their content. “Specifically, ‘Adult Content’ and ‘Fans Only’ are mentioned in the Category and Platform sections,” the app researcher explained.

In another monetization measure, Twitter last week offered its first subscription to Australia and Canada called Twitter Blue, which will give users the option of doing a 30-second undo to erase any typos. This has been the biggest demand for years by its users. Users can set a customizable timer of up to 30 seconds to click ‘undo’ before a sent tweet, reply, or thread on their timeline. Additionally, people can preview their tweets and correct their mistakes before sending them.

“As a Twitter Blue subscriber, you will get these features for a monthly price of 3.49 Canadian dollars or 4.49 Australian dollars,” the company said in a statement. The subscription service will be gradually launched in other countries including India shortly. Twitter in May acquired Scroll, a $5-per-month subscription service that removes ads from participating websites.
