Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s daughter Suri has been in the news lately for hitting high school milestones. On Friday, June 21, the 18-year-old received his diploma from LaGuardia High School. While the Top Gun star was occupied at a Taylor Swift concert, she rejoiced in receiving her diploma with her mother by her side.
Suri Cruise drops her father’s last name
The now-high school graduate was seen posing for photos outside a rustic brick building in New York City with Holmes, 45, and a friend. The mother-daughter pair is seen in the pictures beaming with pride at Suri’s accomplishment.
The actress from Alone Together was dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and pleated trousers in a matching pastel yellow colour. As the two travelled to the United Palace Theatre in Manhattan, Suri wore a chic white dress underneath her red graduation robe and carried the hat in her hand.
The teenager previously grabbed media attention for arriving at her senior prom looking like a grown-up.
Suri has seemingly dropped her famous last name, “Cruise,” as her graduation ceremony pamphlet shows that she now goes by “Suri Noelle,” according to Page Six.
The reason behind Suri’s decision to remove her father’s last name remains unknown, but since his divorce from Holmes, the Mission Impossible star has mostly disappeared from the family portrait. The Hollywood veteran was seen taking in the Eras Tour performance in London during his daughter’s graduation ceremony.
She was seen making out with her high school sweetheart, Toby Cohen, a talented musician, last week. The young couple shared a daring kiss while out and about at Central Park in New York City. Cohen made his Instagram account private not long after they were photographed packing on a PDA.
