Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia has been one of the most sought-after artistes of her time. Her professional and personal life has been a topic of discussion since the beginning of her career. Here’s a throwback to how Dimple ended up marrying her idol superstar Rajesh Khanna and came out of the same after an alleged rift.

Rajesh noticed Dimple in the film ‘Bobby’. She was doing great in her career and and was in love with Rishi Kapoor. However, their relationship did not last long and the two parted ways. Rajesh took advantage of the opportunity and proposed to Dimple who was 16 years younger than him. Being a big fan of the legendary actor, the actress also accepted his proposal and both tied the knot in 1973. He also talked about his marriage in an old interview.

However, both the career of late actor and his love for Dimple began to fade. Reports claimed that Rajesh had become an alcoholic in the early 80s due to the failure of his films and his marriage with Dimple had hit rock bottom. Even though Dimple stood by him in his difficult days, he grew close to his co-actor Tina Munim.

The rumors of their affair started when he was in Mauritius for the shooting of ‘Soutan’. When this news reached Dimple, she was heartbroken. Without telling anyone, she returned to Mumbai and never again went to  Rajesh Khanna’s house in Mumbai i.e. ‘Aashirwad’. Soon after moving out of Rajesh’s house with her two daughters- Twinkle and Rinke, Dimple found love in Sunny Deol.

The two shot many bold scenes in their films like ‘Aag Ka Gola’, ‘Manzil Manzil’ and ‘Narsimha’. Both Dimple and Sunny never acknowledged their relationship but as per reports, the duo has dated for 11 long years. Sunny’s ex-girlfriend, Amrita Singh had also once confirmed that he was having an affair with Dimple.
