‘Wrote Chhakka Repeatedly’: Sushmita Sen Says She Blocked ‘Nameless People’ After ‘Taali’ Poster Release!

Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is not just a beautiful face. She has time and again proved her talent with terrific portrayals on screen. The actress is going to step into the shoes of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant with her next web series ‘Taali’. In a recent chat with a leading daily, Sushmita revealed that she faced massive backlash from ‘nameless people on social media’ after she released the first look of her series ‘Taali’ last year. The actress also shared that she blocked all of them.

Sushmita talks about trolling on ‘Taali’ poster

Sushmita stated that the first poster of ‘Taali’ had half of her face and the clap. She then remembered how after its launch, her comments section got flooded with lots of nameless people writing ‘chhakka (eunuch)’ repeatedly. The actress took it very personally and blocked all of them. But it hit her and made her wonder how people like Gauri feel all their life as they are living with it every moment of their life.

Furthermore, Sushmita thanked her for getting an opportunity to change this somehow. She thought that if she can be a medium through which the love that people have for her can be passed on to a community that has longed and ached for it, they deserve to have it.

About ‘Taali’

Sushmita Sen had shared the first glimpse of ‘Taali’ in October last year. In the caption, she had written, “Taali – Bajaungi nahi, bajwaungi Nothing makes me prouder and more grateful than to have the privilege of portraying this beautiful person and of bringing her story to the world!!”

‘Taali’ will start streaming on JioCinema from August 15, 2023. It will follow the story of activist Shreegauri Sawant who worked relentlessly for recognition of third gender in India. It is helmed by Ravi Jadhav. Before this, Sushmita appeared in Aarya season 2 which released on Disney+Hotstar in 2021.
