The controversy surrounding actor Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 continues to make headlines, and now filmmaker and Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit has responded sharply to recent remarks made by actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. Speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, Kangana had reacted to the FWICE’s Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Ranveer Singh.

Drawing parallels with her own experiences, she stated that she had also faced bans in the industry in the past and suggested that greater success often attracts more adversaries. However, Ashoke Pandit has now criticized Kangana’s comments, arguing that many people are speaking about the issue without understanding the facts. In an interview with one of the media houses, Pandit said, “Many people in the industry have started criticizing us. Yesterday, Kangana also made some comments. People are not understanding the complete context and are simply passing judgments.

Kangana said, ‘I too was banned by the industry.’ My response is that you are talking without knowing the issue. This matter concerns the industry, and you do not even know the full details.” Pandit emphasized that FWICE’s actions were never directed against Ranveer Singh personally. According to him, the federation’s concern lies with protecting the interests of producers, technicians, workers, and everyone involved in film production.

“We are not against Ranveer. We are concerned about what happened and its impact on the industry. Before reacting publicly, people should understand the circumstances that led to this decision,” he added. The dispute reportedly began after Ranveer Singh exited Don 3, a project announced by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. Following the actor’s departure, Farhan allegedly approached FWICE claiming financial losses of approximately ₹45 crore due to the situation.

Based on the complaint, FWICE issued a Non-Cooperation Directive against Ranveer Singh. The directive reportedly meant that members affiliated with the federation would not collaborate with the actor until the matter was resolved. While it was not an official ban, it could have created logistical challenges during future productions. According to reports, FWICE sent multiple notices to Ranveer seeking clarification. However, the actor’s representatives allegedly responded by stating that the matter did not fall under the federation’s jurisdiction. Following this exchange, FWICE proceeded with the NCD.
