OTT Platforms Decline Kangana Ranaut’s Bilkis Bano Film Proposal

Actor Kangana Ranaut responded to an X user, who wanted her to make a film on Bilkis Bano on Tuesday. The exchange began when a fan tagged Kangana, referring to her prior tweet discussing her commitment to women empowerment films. The fan inquired whether Kangana would consider creating a powerful movie narrating the story of Bilkis Bano.

Kangana promptly replied to the fan’s tweet, expressing her keenness to develop a film centred around Bilkis Bano.OTT platforms said that they don’t do so-called politically motivated films.


She expressed, “I’ve prepared the script for that story after three years of research and work. However, @netflix, @amazonIN, and other studios responded, stating their strict guidelines against so-called politically motivated films. @JioCinema declined collaboration, citing my support for BJP, while Zee is amidst a merger. What alternatives do I have?”
