Priyanka Chopra Jonas And Lara Dutta Celebrate 21 Years Of Friendship With A Mini-Reunion.
Priyanka, who forayed into the world of glamour with the Miss India pageant of 2000, is achieving new heights in her career with each passing day. The year 2000 was a golden year for India in the pageantry world as three beauties of Miss India that year – Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Dia Mirza, and Lara Dutta – went on to win their respective International pageants, giving a first of its kind triple victory to India. It gained India a lot of praise from the entire world.
While Priyanka Chopra Jonas won Miss world 2000, Lara Dutta became Miss universe 2000. Dia, on the other hand, ended up winning the Miss Asia Pacific title.
Ever since the competition, Lara and Priyanka have shared a great bond and ended up becoming good friends. The two divas later Bollywood with the same film, Andaaz opposite Akshay Kumar. Even after being contemporaries to each other, Priyanka and Lara hold high regard for one another and have always praised each other on both professional and personal levels.
Recently, to celebrate 21 years of friendship, we got to witness glimpses of the strong bond that these two share. The two met to for a mini-reunion along with Lara’s daughter Saira. Priyanka took to her Instagram and posted a picture from their hang out together. She captioned it as, “21 years and counting… friendships that can pick up at any given time… @larabhupathi and her most shining star. Saira you’re definitely your mum’s daughter. Adore you. So much love for these ladies. And so many memories.”
Priyanka and Lara’s Miss India competition was organized by the 9X Media Managing Director Pradeep Guha. Guha has recently lost his life to cancer and when these two divas met recently, they also remembered their first mentor in the glamour world. Priyanka while remembering Pradeep had also written, “Also Missed you #PraddepGuha.”
The Miss India reunion seemed a bit incomplete without Dia Mirza. Dia shared the joy for her fellow beauty queens in the comments section and wrote, “So glad you girls met.”
Six years before this triple win, India celebrated a double victory in the pageantry world when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sushmita Sen won Miss World 1994 and Miss Universe 1994 respectively.
