Why Did Sridevi Refuse To Work With Sanjay Dutt?
As per reports, it was due to an incident that happened in 1983. Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt worked together in Mahesh Bhatt’s Gumrah which was a super hit. Audience loved the chemistry of Sanjay and Sridevi. Post Gumrah, they never worked in any film together. In fact, reports stated that even for the same film, Sridevi was not willing to work with the Sadak actor, but it was for the sake of her career, she agreed to do it.
Reportedly, it was during the shoot of Gumrah, Sridevi and Sanjay did not talk to each other on the sets, and the actress would leave after her shoot without even looking at her co-star Sanju.
What Sanjay Dutt Told About It
It was in an interview with Filmfare, the Munna Bhai MBBS actor revealed that as he was a fan of Sridevi, he went to meet her in 1993 on the sets of Himmatwala. As he couldn’t find her on sets, he barged into her makeup room. He was drunk and seeing him in that condition, it left Sridevi shocked and scared and she shut the door in his face. Since the incident, she decided she would never work with Dutt.
Sridevi was supposed to sign a film called Zameen, with Sanjay and had signed it on one condition, that she would not share a single scene with him. However, the film never got released.
Sridevi passed away in 2018 in Dubai. She was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero in a cameo role. Her last film as lead was Mom. Sanjay was last seen in KGF: Chapter 2. He has Hera Pheri 3 and Baap in his kitty.
