‘Aap Kyu Jal Rahe Ho?’ Netizens Slam Vivek Agnihotri For Calling Aishwarya Rai’s Dress Assistant ‘Costume Slave’

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is famous for putting across his piece of mind on social media openly. He often runs into trouble for his controversial statements. Recently, the ‘Kashmir Files’ director targeted actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Cannes look and use of assistants helping actresses with their elaborate dresses through a tweet. But her fans did not leave him for his bitter words and schooled Vivek immediately.

Vivek shared Aishwarya’s picture

Vivek put up a picture of Aishwarya’s red carpet moment in his tweet. In this photo, Aishwarya is seen posing for the shutterbugs in a silver gown. A person is also seen handling the big hood of her gown so that everything looks picture perfect. Sharing this image, Vivek asked, “Have you heard any word like ‘costume slaves’. They are mostly girls (a suited man here). You can see them in India too with every female celebs. Why are we becoming so stupid and rude for such uncomfortable fashion..?”

Aishwarya fans slammed Vivek

After this tweet, there came a barrage of comments on Vivek’s post. While some people supported the filmmaker, some took him in stride. A user said, “Aap kyu jal rahe ho?” Another stated, “I feel brands pay them to appear on the carpet. After all, it is a part of show-biz..”

Vivek clarified his stance

Vivek has given clarification after seeing the controversy stirring up on his tweet. “My comment is not related with ARB .. It is just on the strange concept made about costume slavery. And ARB is not responsible for it. She is just model/fashion ambassador,” wrote Vivek in a tweet.

For the unversed, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Cannes look has become the talk of the town. Like always, the diva served a risky look. She donned a floor-sweeping gown with thousands of dainty aluminum paillettes and crystals.
