Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel is on a high right now. She is enjoying the success of her latest hit ‘Gadar 2′. The film has shattered several major box office records to become an all time blockbuster. This has given a boost to the actress’ career which was drowning earlier. In a recent interaction, Ameesha opened up on her low phase in films. She recalled the time when she became a target of severe criticism, nasty backlash and even discrimination from producers after giving box-office duds.

Ameesha reflects upon her film career

While talking about her journey in Bollywood, the diva said that she was attacked badly after when her films were failing to leave a mark. She mentioned that all the targeting happened to those actresses who didn’t come from film families. Ameesha stated that it’s a fact those who belong to the industry will always have an edge. She asserted that if she had belonged to the film fraternity or had a godfather, then even if her films didn’t work, it wouldn’t have mattered. She would still have gotten the biggest films.

Furthermore, Ameesha spoke about if she has ever faced the heat of insecurity and competition from fellow actors. She said that although she heard and felt such things, she never let them affect her work and only focussed on giving her best. The actress also disclosed that there have been times when she was forced to forego her salary due to a film’s under-performance. She shared that at times when the producers were at losses due to film’s failure, they had asked her to waive off her fee. She has too sweetly let go of it as according to Ameesha, it’s very important to understand another person’s position. So, no one forced her to give up my remuneration. She has done out of respect for her makers.
