Ananya Pandey On Struggling With Body-Shaming For Being Skinny, “People Said I Look Flat Screen”

Ananya Pandey has been at the receiving end of trolling and criticism since the day she made her entry into the glamor world. And the trolling intensified when people saw her acting in Student of the Year and not to forget her comment on struggle when questioned on nepotism. The actress is quite active on social media and keeps entertaining her fans and followers with photos and videos. However, sometimes she gets trolled and receives obscene comments for her looks. In a recent interview, Ananya Pandey opened up about getting body-shamed for being skinny.

She was quoted saying, “People used to say I look like a boy, flat screen. At that time it did hurt because those are the years where you are forming self confidence. You are learning to love yourself and someone else is pulling you down when you really start doubting yourself.”

Ananya further added, “Now, I am reaching a point where I am focusing on accepting myself. If that is sorted and that is my foundation then nothing can hurt me since I am at peace with myself and I love myself. I am not saying it has happened. It is an ongoing process but I feel this realisation is more important than what anyone else says.”

Earlier talking about the same, Ananya told Harper’s Bazaar India, “We are meant to look different; we are meant to come in different shapes and sizes and colours…that’s what makes us beautiful! The worst thing a human can do to another is take away their confidence and self-worth.”
