Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi is a well-known name of the Indian film industry. Even after appearing as a supporting cast in movies, the actor has proved his mettle. Be it the character of Circuit in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ or Jolly in ‘Jolly LLB’, each of Arshad’s on-screen role is memorable. Arshad, who is in discussion these days for his recently released web series ‘Asur 2’ has recently opened up on becoming a target of politics in the showbiz. The actor recalled the days when many A-list actors got him replaced in films due to their insecurities. This happened with him multiple times.
Arshad on getting kicked out of films
In a conversation with RJ Siddharth Kannan, Arshad spoke about his journey in the industry. He exposed the dark side of Bollywood. The actor mentioned he was kicked out of several projects. Many insecure leading men did this to him as they feared that he might steal their spotlight. He also said that people like Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan are not afraid of their co-stars taking away their limelight. The actor shared screen space with Sanjay in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and with Salman in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’.
Along with this, Arshad also revealed the main reason behind doing ‘Munnabhai MBBS’. He said that he did this film because of Dutt. He knew what a secure actor Sanjay was and he would let him do his job. The ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ actor confessed that initially, he was not sure about playing the iconic character of Circuit. He thought he wouldn’t get noticed even if the film clicked with the audience. He added he saw himself as a sidekick to a goon and felt that supporting actors don’t really get the recognition.
Further in the chat, Arshad disclosed that though he is famous among the audience, his wife Maria Goretti does not like his acting at all. She doesn’t like most of his work, and he is not a star at home.
Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi is receiving accolades for his latest web show ‘Asur 2’. He will next appear in ‘Jolly LLB 3’ with Akshay Kumar.
