Tom Holland To Leave Acting?

After announcing a few weeks ago that he is taking a break from acting after producing the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room, the 27-year-old opened up about the film industry. He plays a character loosely based on Billy Milligan, a man from the United States who claimed to have 24 different personalities. Tom Holland Discusses About Hollywood.

The Crowded Room actor spoke at length about his feelings and dilemmas regarding his relationship with Hollywood. In an interview with Jay Shetty’s podcast, On Purpose, Tom said, “Look, I really am a massive fan of making films but I really do not like Hollywood, it is not for me,” The business terrifies me. I understand that I am a part of that business and that I enjoy my interactions with it, but I am always looking for ways to remove myself from it so that I can live as normal a life as possible.”

According to Holland, it is extremely rare for him to appear on a podcast, but appearing on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose provided a safe space for him to be vulnerable. His childhood friends have lost themselves in the entertainment industry and he is afraid of doing the same.

“It has definitely been an ongoing thought for me, which is ‘Don’t lose yourself,” said the actor.  “Many people came before me who lost themselves to this business,” he said. “I’ve even had friends that I grew up with who no longer are because of this business.”

According to the actor, he would rather spend his time with his family and friends, practicing carpentry and golf, and a charity that his mother runs. He explains that these are the things he values the most and wishes to safeguard at all costs.
