According To Bollywood Hungama Report, Defending Shamin Segal, Fardeen Khan stated that she did an excellent job in the show. He said, “Her role was very complex and challenging, and she was working with some mega actors. I think it was a great start for her career and acting in general.”

Amidst the criticism, Shamin Segal compared her acting in Heeramandi to that of Meena Kumari in Pakeezah. She mentioned that she tried to portray the “nothingness” of Meena Kumari’s character through her role as Alamzeb.
