Internet sensation and TV actress Uorfi Javed aka Urfi is not just about known for her bizarre fashion choices but also for speaking her heart out on various ongoing discussions. Recently, she took to Twitter to slam Bollywood producer Aditya Chopra over nepotistic remarks on brother Uday Chopra.

In the latest episode of ‘The Romantics’, Aditya talked about why Uday couldn’t go far in his acting career. He stated, “My brother is an actor and he’s not a very successful. He is the son of one of the biggest filmmakers and brother of a very big filmmaker. Imagine a company like YRF, that has probably launched the most newcomers could not make him a star. Why could we not do it for our own? Because the bottom line is, only audience will decide, ‘I like this person, I want to see this person’. No one else can decide that.”

Now, this has irked the former Bigg Boss OTT contestant to the core and she has hit out strongly on the producer with a post. Reacting to Aditya’s words, Urfi said that the ‘sheer ignorance’ in his statement is irritating her.

Urfi wrote, “The sheer ignorance in this statement irritates me so much. Nepotism isn’t about success, it’s about the opportunities. Uday Chopra wasn’t good looking (not that it matters but I’m making a point), wasn’t a good actor, his movies failed miserable at box office but he still kept getting work. Had it been some Uday Chauhan (someone not from Bollywood), he wouldn’t even get all those opportunities just after one failed movie. Are you guys going to defend nepotism by using This? Really?”

Netizens react to Urfi’s tweet

Urfi’s reaction to Aditya’s words was not much welcomed by a certain section of netizens. A user asked Urfi if she was in his positions, she would also have given opportunities to her sister. “Nepotism exists and everyone will try and give opportunity to the people they love,” he added.

For the unknown, Uorfi Javed has been part of television shows like ‘Bade Bhaiyya Ka Dulhaniya’, ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’, ‘Bepannah’, etc. She tasted success after her stint on ‘Bigg Boss OTT’.
