Singer Shubhneet Singh aka Shubh used his social media accounts to make an official declaration about his position on the ongoing controversy days after his India music tour was postponed. The artist has been in the news for a 2017 Instagram story he posted that included a warped map of India. The artist was accused of supporting separatist Khalistani groups when the post went viral on social media.
Top celebs like KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and Virat Kohli unfollowed him on social media. Shubh responded to the accusations on Instagram on Thursday night and expressed his disappointment at having his program canceled.
In response to the uproar surrounding his purported support for Khalistan, Shubh issued a formal declaration.
Shubh posted a lengthy statement on Instagram about the cancellation of his trip to India and being called an “anti-nationalist.” In the lengthy letter, the artist discussed how it had always been his lifelong desire to make a name for himself as a young rapper from Punjab’s rural areas. The artist went on to say that recent events had hampered his years of dedication and advancement, and he expressed disappointment over the cancellation of his gigs in India.
