Ranveer Singh shared the news of the new release date on social media with a still from the film where the actors can be seen in the Test jerseys, lauding Kapil Dev in a scene from the film.

On Sunday, September 26, Ranveer took to social media to announce that 83 will release on Christmas this year. Sharing a still from the film, he wrote, “It’s time83 IN CINEMAS THIS CHRISTMAS. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. #ThisIs83 (sic).”

The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Saqib Saleem, Boman Irani, and many more. It also has a cameo by Deepika Padukone who plays Kapil Dev’s wife Roma in the film.

Ranveer Singh essays the role of Kapil Dev in the film, who led the Indian cricket team to victory as the team’s captain back then.
