Sanaya Irani Reveals She Once Heard A Family Saying She ‘Looks Like A Monkey’-Deets Inside
Television’s popular actress Sanaya Irani has killer looks. She is still the heartbeat of many youngsters. Even after not doing any TV show for quite a long time now, Sanaya keeps her fans hooked to her, all thanks to her iconic show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, which got her a permanent place in the audience’s hearts. TV right now has a lineup of beautiful actresses but Sanaya’s aura is unmatched.
In a recent interview on Zoom’s By Invite Only, Sanaya has revealed some interesting details from her school days. She has told that when she was in school, she used to get a lot of mean and weird comments on her appearance. She was quite hesitant in meeting people because she knew that something awkward would come from them for her looks. Sanaya also revealed that she once heard a family saying in Gujarati that she looks like a monkey.
Sanaya, who made an appearance on the talk show accompanied by former co-actor Barun Sobti said, “When I was in a boarding school in Ooty. I am fair, if everybody has noticed, and I was ten times fairer then. I was looked at differently in that school. People looked at me and said ‘white cockroach’ or ‘lizard’.”
She further added, “I heard a Gujarati family once say, ‘She looks like a monkey’. They were saying it in Gujarati but I knew Gujarati, they didn’t know that. We were in school, eating ice cream and they were like ‘look at her’ because I had red cheeks, red nose, all of that. They were like, ‘She looks like a monkey.’ So, for me, when people looked at me, I always connected it to ‘they are going to say something weird about me’.”
Sanaya Irani also said that she ‘always stood out when she was younger, because of her appearance, and she didn’t like that at all. She also said that she just wanted to blend in. All this made her a bit uncomfortable in taking compliments from people too.
In June this year, Barun and Sanaya celebrated 10 years of their cult show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. Sanaya took to her Instagram and wrote, “Thank you for showering us with so much love over the last 10 years, it is the most overwhelming and heartwarming feeling. I feel extremely grateful for being a part of IPKKND, a show that gave me friends like family, that put me on the map and for all the love and warmth I have received from every one of you. Forever grateful,”
For the unversed, Sanaya made her television debut with the show Left Right Left in 2007. She then portrayed the role of a geek as Gunjan Bhushan in Miley Jab Hum Tum where she found the love of her life, actor Mohit Sehgal. The two tied the knot in 2016. Mohit and Sanaya also participated in Nach Baliye 8 where they ended up as the second runner.
