Fans of Bollywood vocalist Shalmali Kholgade can rejoice. In the presence of her family and close friends, she married her long-time partner Farhan Shaikh in an intimate ceremony at her home. The wedding took place on November 22, and the couple is expected to have a lavish party in Mumbai on December 1 to commemorate the occasion. The singer uploaded photos from the wedding on her social media accounts.

Sharing the pictures on Instagram, the singer wrote, “22nd November 2021 is the most precious day in my life thus far! The day I got married to my perfect match @farhanfshaikh. We had precisely the kind of wedding we had hoped to have.. In the living room of our home with our parents and siblings, a few aunts and cousins.” Shalmali donned an orange saree with a bird theme for the wedding, while Farhan wore an orange kurta and pyjama. Their wedding garlands, which were fashioned of orange and white pompoms and images of the couple, were pretty unique.

In one of the pictures, Shalmali wrote, “My incredible Father conducted the Lajja Hom and Saptapadi with an English translation. As complete as complete can be was what our wedding was. I still can’t get over how wholesome it was.”

Farhan and Shalmali have been together for more than six years. Shalmali and Farhan had always desired a low-key wedding. They wanted to keep their wedding day intimate and simple. Initially, they simply intended to have a registered wedding, but they later decided to perform some rites at their home for the sake of their parents’ convenience.

Shalmali Kholgade began with her Bollywood journey with the hit Main Pareshan in the 2012 film Ishaqzaade and since then there has been no looking back for the singe. In the last 9 years, she has made a name for herself in the film industry with her versatile singing. Shalmali is known for songs like Daru Desi (Cocktail) and Balam Pichkari (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani). She has also been a part of music reality shows, Indian Idol Junior and Sur Nava Dhyas Nava.
