Taylor Swift-Inspired Character In Upcoming Film ‘Argylle’? What Director Says

American director Bryce Dallas Howard discusses how Taylor Swift served as the inspiration for the “Argylle” character.

Bryce Dallas Howard, aka ‘Elly Conway’ in Argylle, clarifies Taylor Swift’s involvement in the film’s inspiration. “We can’t pretend she was involved, but she was a great inspiration,” Bryce discloses on The Graham Norton Show.

Taylor’s dorkiness

Bryce claimed that ‘Elly Conway’ was inspired by Taylor’s unapologetic dorkiness. Elly’s character resonated with Swift’s love of cats, her argyle sweaters, and her amazing backpack with a feline buddy.

Taylor’s cat lady vibes

Bryce spills the tea on Taylor’s cat lady vibes, complete with a cat in a backpack. Elly, played by Bryce in the film, exhibits a similar fascination with cats, suggesting a peculiar bond between Swift and the character.

Cat clues

Putting their detective caps on, Swifties surmised that Taylor could be the enigmatic Elly Conway. The argyle backpack and the resemblance between Elly’s Scottish Fold cat in the trailer and Swift’s Meredith Grey were clues. Conspiracy theories about Taylor’s involvement were all the rage online.

“She is a cat lady. She’s got this awesome backpack with a cat in it that she walks around with. She loves a good argyle sweater, and there is a sort of unapologetic dorkiness about her,” Bryce Dallas Howard commented.

The director debunks rumours

Matthew Vaughn, the director of Argylle, intervenes to refute the gossip. He makes it clear that while Elly Conway wrote the book, Taylor Swift is not the author. Saying, “It is a really good book, but it is not Taylor Swift who wrote it,” Vaughn brushes off the conspiracy theories.
