Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee is someone who never misses the target with his power-packed performances. From films to OTT, he is ruling the hearts of the audience on all the platforms. In a recent interview, Manoj opened up on his struggling days.

Manoj Bajpayee reveals what an A-list actress once told him

Manoj revealed that people often told him that his face was not good. In fact, while he was trying his luck in the industry, a famous actress told him, ‘Manoj, I don’t find you good-looking.’ The actor did not get offended by it as the idea was already ingrained in him. Later, Manoj was shocked when he was offered the role of a prince in a film.

Director Shyam Benegal cast Manoj as a prince in the film ‘Zubaida’ and it was quite surprising for him. He asked the filmmaker if he was sure about his decision. He also told the filmmaker that he might not fit in the role of prince as people at that time had a clear picture about the hero who was always dashing and good looking. Manoj felt that he did not look at all like the prince that Shyam had offered him.

Furthermore, Manoj stated, “I am grateful to Shyam Benegal. He decided to cast me in ‘Zubaida’. But at that time I went to him and asked, ‘Why are you doing this? Don’t cast me as a prince, I don’t look like a prince.’ Then he looked at me and said, ‘Why do you say that?’ Then Shyam took out a photograph of a prince and questioned me which real-life prince looked better than me.”

Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in Arun Batra’s OTT film ‘Gulmohar’ alongside veteran actress Sharmila Tagore. It was released on Disney+Hotstar. Manoj will soon appear in projects titled ‘Despatch’, ‘Joram’ and ‘Family Man Season 3’.
