On Wednesday i.e. 15 September, major trouble knocked on the door of Bollywood actor Sonu Sood. The Income Tax Department ‘surveyed’ the six Mumbai offices and homes in the suburbs related to the actor.

According to the latest reports, the real reason behind this thorough investigation has been revealed. The Income Tax Department is looking into a land deal between a firm in the name of Sonu Sood and a Lucknow-based real estate company after a complaint of tax evasion was filed. The I-T survey at the said locations began in the morning and continued till at least 7 PM in the evening. Sources have also revealed that the I-T department has not yet made any seizures in the matter.

Recently, the Delhi government had made Sonu the face of the mentorship program. For this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had a press conference with Sonu Sood in Delhi. Under this program, Sonu will guide children who are not well equipped. It was only after Sonu’s recent meeting with Kejriwal that the I-T department showed up at his premises.

Arvind Kejriwal has also come out in support of the actor and philanthropist in the matter of ongoing survey by I-T. He said that the actor has prayers of all those families who got his support during the time of the pandemic. He also added that there are millions of difficulties on the path of truth, but the truth always wins.

Tagging a news report of the same case, Kejriwal tweeted, “There are millions of difficulties on the path of truth, but the truth always wins. With Sonu Sood Ji, there are prayers of lakhs of families of India who got Sonu ji’s support in difficult times.”

Besides Delhi CM, many other AAP leaders also showed their support for Sonu. “This is nothing but a witch hunt by an insecure government against a giant philanthropist considered a ‘messiah’ by millions. His only crime is that he worked for the welfare of the downtrodden when they were orphaned by the state,” AAP leader and MLA Raghav Chadha tweeted.

Let us tell you, Sonu Sood gained huge popularity for his social work during the Corona pandemic. Last year, during the lockdown, Sonu did a remarkable job of sending laborers and students to their homes safely. Through private buses and airplanes, Sonu took the stranded people to their hometowns and states. Twitter was flooded with people seeking help from Sonu. Sonu had started the helpline also to help such people.

On the film front, Sonu will now be seen in Prithviraj opposite Akshay Kumar. The film is directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Along with this, Sonu has also appeared in songs. His song with Tony Kakkar, Saath Kya Nibhaoge gained millions of views. It was directed by Farah Khan.
