Dharmendra Lashes Out At Media As He Reached To Cast Vote In Mumbai

On Monday in Mumbai, veteran actor Dharmendra went out to vote in the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024. As he approached the voting booth, the 88-year-old actor grinned at the photographers; however, as he was about to leave, Dharmendra became agitated with the press.

A video of the same event went viral online, showing the seasoned actor becoming irate over a question from a journalist.

What did Dharmendra say?

In the video, Dharmendra is seen saying, “Acche shehri bano, desh bhakt bano, maa baap see pyaar karo… aap ko malum hai jo mujhse kehelwana chahte hai (Be a good citizen, love your parents, you already know this.)” The incident happened as Dharmendra was returning after casting his vote. Dharmendra’s wife, Hema Malini, who is also a BJP MP, was seen at the polling booth with her daughter, Esha Deol. The actress was wearing a peach-coloured saree.

Lok Sabha Elections and Bollywood

Since morning, many Bollywood celebrities have been spotted at the polling booths, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Anil Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan, among others.

Bollywood power couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were seen casting their vote at Pali Hill, Mumbai, during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Akshay, who recently gave up his Canadian citizenship, arrived at a polling booth in Mumbai dressed in casual attire. The actor, who cast his vote as an Indian citizen for the first time since giving up his Canadian citizenship, emphasised the importance of voting for a strong and developed India.

Farhan Akhtar, his sister, filmmaker Zoya and his mother and screenwriter, Honey Irani, proudly displayed their inked fingers after casting their votes in Mumbai.

Sanya Malhotra, known for her role in the film Dangal, displayed her inked finger after casting her vote in Mumbai. Filmmakers Nikhil Advani and Kunal Kohli also exercised their democratic rights at St. Anne’s School in Bandra.
