Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is trying her hands on different things like production and direction. Her maiden production venture ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ was released on Amazon Prime Video. Ever since its release, the actress is keeping a close eye on its viewership. Recently, she took to Instagram to declare her film as one of the biggest hits of the year.

Kangana calls ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ a hit film

Kangana posted a story on her IG handle where she shared a screen grab of a tweet from her fan page. The tweet showed a chart of most watch Hindi films directly released on streaming platforms in India in the first half of 2023. In the text area, the fan club wrote, “Tiku Weds Sheru emerges as @PrimeVideoIN’s most-watched movie of the year so far! It has also secured the remarkable #4 spot in overall viewership. This June sensation has already gathered 11M+ views.”

Atop of the screenshot, the actress wrote that after the astounding figures of ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ are the result of her fighting all paid negativity and disrespect from mainstream media. She thanked all her supporters.

Netizens react to Kangana’s declaration

Soon after, the netizens began reacting to Kangana’s claim. One user wrote, “I hated the movie. It left a bad feeling. Very poorly made film.” Another stated, “Fake manipulated figures! Nobody I know has watched it even for free!” A third one took a sarcastic dig and penned, “Tumhare liye to Dhakad bhi superhit thi.”

Let us tell you that ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ is directed by Sai Kabir. It stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in the leads. The plot of the movie revolves around the titular characters who have dreams of makings it big in the film industry.  The film opened to mixed reviews.
