Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji opened up about the real reason she married Aditya Chopra. The duo is among the most loved couples in the film industry. Rani dropped a tidbit that her movie “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna” is an eye-opener for young girls. The Karan Johar directorial made her realise true love for Aditya and marry him for the right reason.
How Aditya clinched the deal
Both Rani and Aditya are intensely private about their personal life. They got married in 2014 and have an 8-year-old daughter Aadira. In a recent conversation with the media, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress revealed what attracted her to Adi.
As a doting wife, she heaped lavish praise on her husband. Rani Mukerji reviews that her husband is a very good human being. She said, “To me, that was the clincher.” Since Rani grew up in a loving household with her parents, she has always valued family.
“In my life, it’s very important to have good people around, because I need to respect people. That’s very important to me.” And this is what she saw in Aditya Chopra. “What I saw in Adi was a very, very gracious human being, a good person, and a great leader for his team.”
Rani Mukerji about sustaining a marriage
The “Hichki” actress continued about Aditya, “He’s very fair, not in terms of his colour, but in terms of his morals and his judgment.” As someone who has been in the entertainment industry for decades,
Rani has worked with many people closely. So, if Rani Mukerji had to marry an industry person, “It could not be anybody but Adi,” she beams.
Moreover, the film “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna,” which dealt with infidelity and unhappy marriages, helped her make the decision that she had to marry for the right reason.
“There are many women who don’t open up in their marriages for a long time, and the years pass, and they become old, and then it’s too late.” Also, attraction fades away with time.
Rani makes a declaration that married people may sometimes lose the spark.
“You might fall out of love, or lose that initial attraction, but you’ll never lose that respect you have for a person. For me, that’s very important.” It is important that when you are close to someone, you respect them at all times.
When she had a miscarriage
Last year, Rani revealed that during the pandemic, she had a miscarriage. when her daughter was one year old, the couple started trying for another baby for 7 years. In 2020, she was 5 months into pregnancy when she lost the baby.
She revealed this when she was a speaker at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. “Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because I didn’t speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film,” Rani said.
Rani Mukerji was talking about the true-story-based movie “Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway,” in which we saw her last. The film’s budget was Rs. 29 crore, but it collected over Rs 36 crore worldwide. It was also Norway’s highest-grossing Bollywood film to date.
